The charter boats listed on this page are the very finest of the Kona fleet. There are over 75 active charter boats in Honokohau Harbor. Honokohau Harbor is located just three miles from the Kona Airport and only 2 miles from the small town of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
The Kona fleet is one of the oldest and most prestigious fleets in the world. Boasting over 55 blue marlin weighing in over the 1000 pound mark, these granders are caught everyday of the week, every month of the year.
World record blue marlin, spearfish, and tuna are caught in the prestine blue water just 2 minutes from shore in the calmest waters of the pacific ocean.
Each of the Captains and crew listed to the left have thousands of days catching marlin for young and old alike. Many of the Captains specialize in tournament fishing and will guide the amateur or the most seasoned professional to a jackpot win or the most prestigious tournament trophy.
Tournaments sanctioned as some of the best in the world are held predominately in the summer months from June - September. This coincides with the arrival of an abundance of blue marlin during the peak of the fishing year.
Charter boats range in price and quality. Expect to pay between $500.00 - $900.00 per day for a full day charter and less for half days or 3/4 days. Kona Captains are knowledgable in IGFA sanctioned rules and promote the tag and/or release of the fish caught. If you like to keep your catch, the crew will organize getting you enough fish for your table and if needed can organize getting your catch mounted or shipped home.
